Volunteer

Volunteers Welcome

We cannot do this work without you! Our board members often roll up their sleeves and work hard at trash pick-up, invasive plant species removal, planting trees, and watering seedlings, but we can do more good work with your help!

We try to make work assignments fun, rewarding, and usually include an educational element.

Most of our volunteer opportunities involve the restoration efforts in Hague Nature Preserve. Types of volunteer work include those things mentioned above – removing invasive plant species, planting trees and other native plants, picking up trash, plus the day-to-day projects that a property undergoing restorative efforts require.

Do you love plant identification and wildlife observation? You may be able to assist with conducting biological surveys and recording the results.

Group Service Projects

Volunteering on conservation projects at Hague Nature Preserve is an excellent way to begin learning about conservation practices with a hands-on approach.

The Hague Nature Preserve offers a unique opportunity for corporate groups, community-minded groups, youth groups, and local high schools to support our mission.  Many groups have spent a few hours helping on projects at the preserve.  The results have been wonderful and the Foundation is so grateful!

We hope to provide more opportunities to be good stewards at Hague Nature Preserve and other natural areas.  Our Foundation board members can work side-by-side with your group on conservation projects.  This is a purpose-filled, meaningful opportunity to care for our natural areas, make a positive impact, and have fun in the process.

The group’s lead person should contact us to make arrangements. Contact us via the contact page on this site, via email at info@billjoycehaguefoundation.org or call us at 614-618-5490 to arrange your group visit.
